As things move forwards towards the opening of thegeekstate.com, it’s time to talk about some of it’s features.
Although I will be mostly me that writes all the cool stuff here, a lot will be community based along the lines of “You suggest, I approve”, thus I hope there will be a lot of content flowing trough this site.
News: Yea interesting news from the world of geekdom, be it science, medical, technical, cultural or just fun.
Articles: just aggregating news is not fun, creating it, molding it, making fun of it, analyzing it and plainly telling you whatever I want, that is what I like.
Everything from openGL tutorials, game design, photography, technology, anything really the sky’s the limit, well the size of my database, but that’s another issue.
Reviews: games, books and technical doodads begs for a review, don’t worry though I will try to add my touch to the whole thing, also I will write oppinion pices as it’s unlikely that I get to test them all.
Video sifting: or whatever you would call it, though this will be more like a favorite geek video of the day, such like this one right here. Read more »

O hai there Internet didn’t see you there, maybe you where wondering what I was up to.
Ok then maybe a quick preview.
First, I am in the process of maybe starting my own little company so I have been a bit preoccupied with that, and in that process I am also rethinking the purpose of this site, previously I have been forced (well according to the format of the site) to write larger rants or maybe whole detailed tutorials, well in my opinion it’s been a bit inflexible, having only smaller posts doesn’t suit me either, I tried such a system, and it didn’t work that well.
Also I have over 50 posts and it’s starting to be a bit crowded on the right.
So what’s the solution then, well i’m transforming the site a little, away goes the big wall of text that greets you, instead you will meed a wall of links and presentation of the sites content think http://www.theinquirer.net/, http://www.pcworld.com/ or http://www.engadget.com/. Read more »

I hereby nominate Keith Olbermann for having the worlds largest set of cohones.
In other news, there has been some changes to the blog system, in short there is now multiple posts on the front page to be more readable, and the comment system will be slightly moved, it’s now under the full post, o and yea, more youtube posts in the future as premiered here.
To quote jackie chan’s uncle from the cartoon, one more thing, often the entire post will be visible only when you click “read more” or the title, or the comment tag, it’s not complete yet, but there are only a few small little details left.
Edit(2007-12-28): or not, i found that this method is no good so i reverted it

Recently this site has been under attack from one or more spambots, i hate them, they have forced me to include various antispam measures, such as the ever popular magic word you have to type in.
Though i have to admit that this version is not that secure, but if they think it’s worth programing a special bot just for my site, well that’s their money they are spending as i can just reprogram my site to follow another behavior.
So spambots, begone with you, if you come here i will resist you.
